Friday night the downtown area of Fullerton saw it’s first known Art Walk. The event gathers people to locations which showcase local artists. The wide variety of styles illustrated here display some of the depth of the collections.

I started the tour at the Fullerton Museum Center. Docent Mike Miller gave me an insightful introduction to art in Fullerton.

Real-time is a term bandied about when speaking of Lost. Like you even know what it is.

When the characters of Lost were first experiencing time travel we referred to it as them “being in the past”. We might say, “Now they are in the past and so anything they do will affect the future.” But we didn’t quite have terms for it yet.

1) The Cherch Lounge was reportedly closed Friday night due to over-occupany.

2) Todd Huffman's nationally televised documentary about contemporary Motocross legends (on CBS at 9 a.m.) was a big hit.

3) Todd Huffman reported on the patio of The Back Alley that Lend Me A Tenor, currently playing at Stages, was outstanding. He also remarked that Darri Kristin strips down to lingerie, which is really no surprise.

One of the most fantastically useful programs for anyone who logs in to sites on the web.

I am going to start my description with the effects.

  • Never lose another password.
  • Go to sites and log in all in one click from the toolbar:
    • Type the site name into the search box in the toolbar and click on the found item.
    • Now you are at the site and logged in.
  • Greatly improved security.
    • Roboform only logs into the correct web address of the underlying web site.
    • You will never log into helpusellebay.com when you think it’s ebay.com.
  • Don’t use “clever” passwords which probably include your name.
  • Don’t use the same password on multiple sites so that unscrupulous web admins can log into your other sites.

Some people have reported having some difficulty registering for the Fullertonian. We can understand that. The Fullertonian provides Facebook Connect login and that can look a little weird. The people said they didn’t know what to click on. So that is what we will show you here.

Register_Login

On the front page of the site click on the Login button instead of the Register button.

This is the first installment of a new and long awaited feature of the Fullertonian. Just as with most features on the Fullertonian it reflects aspects of life in Fullerton; the experience of overhearing a thinly veiled conversation and after subconscious processing of your ear buffer suddenly knowing what they are saying. Or thinking you do.

Our first submission comes not from something heard, but from something read. A note found on the floor at a bar. A little lengthy for such a note, scrawled expansively in the heavy ink of retraced letters

ORANGE, CA: A man was struck and killed by a Metrolink train today at 9:45 at Lincoln Avenue and Orange Olive Road in Orange.

The train crew said that they saw the man step on to the tracks and face the train just before impact.

This incident follows a similar incident in Placentia just days ago. A young woman who was having an argument with her father stepped in front of the oncoming train.

Fullerton, light of my life, fire of my loins. My sin, my soul. Full-er-ton: the tip of my tongue taking a trip of three steps down the palate to tap, at three, on the teeth (sort of) Full. Er. Ton.

Let other scribes and raconteurs masquerade behind thin veneers of objectivity as they wax rhapsodic about the cities they’ve been assigned in this issue. Let them pretend to love cities they’ve never seen...

Two years of economic malaise and a bunch of bad press about belligerent visitors to the town have had a negative effect on the health and well-being of Fullerton. The sense of community has taken a hit. Fewer people at public events. Less people dining out. Lower attendance at the live music shows every night. Farmers at the Market left with left-overs.

It is time I ...
